The 7 Most Romantic Hotel Restaurants for Valentine's Day

It's a tradition to wine and dine your significant other on Valentine's Day for a reason; after all, the way to a man's heart (and many women's as well) is through his stomach, and a candlelit meal with plenty of tasty treats and booze can be just the thing to kick off a romantic evening. With the amorous holiday falling on a Friday this year, there's even more reason to celebrate in style, as plenty of delicious hotel restaurants are featuring special menus for the occasion. Here are the seven most romantic hotel restaurants across the U.S. for this Valentine's Day.

  • Cleo at The Redbury at Hollywood and Vine, Los Angeles

  • Aptly located at Hollywood and Vine, the Redbury is an eclectic boutique hotel that attracts a young, and sometimes famous, clientele. Along with the spacious, apartment-style rooms, the on-site Mediterranean restaurant, Cleo, is a major draw; the warm, cozy space serves tasty small plates and signature cocktails. For Valentine's Day the restaurant is offering a prix fixe menu at $65 per person which includes mezze for the table followed by a choice of second course and entree. Dessert is a sexy flourless chocolate cake with roasted banana, chocolate parfait, and chili doughnuts.

  • Asana at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston

  • In keeping with the theme of the luxury Mandarin Oriental brand, this Boston hotel features a cool Asian restaurant that is popular among tourists and locals alike. Located in Back Bay, it offers sweeping views of Boylston Street and a delicious menu focused on local ingredients with an Asian twist. The four-course prix fixe Valentine's Day menu, at $95 per person (or $160 with wine pairings), is offered in two seatings on both Friday and Saturday night, and features a choice of appetizer and entree as well as chef-selected canapes and miniature desserts for sharing.

  • Mercat A La Planxa at the Blackstone, a Renaissance Hotel, Chicago

  • The quirky, 328-room Blackstone hotel across from Grant Park, in South Loop, mixes contemporary style with the building's restored historic grandeur and the vibe continues in the on-site Jose Garces restaurant. Mercat a la Planxa's Valentine's Day menu offers Spanish highlights such as oysters and croquettes in multiple courses; served on Friday and Saturday, the prix fixe menu runs at $85 per person and a selection of wine pairings adds on $40 per person.

  • R'evolution at the Royal Sonesta Hotel New Orleans

  • Opened in June 2012 by New Orleans native Chef Folse and partner Rick Tramonto, R'evolution has quickly become one of the most renowned restaurants in the French Quarter; it was even featured on Top Chef last month as one of the must-visit eateries in the city. Featuring Cajun favorites such as seafood gumbo and beer-battered crab beignets, the menu offers a tasting menu option as well, which the prix fixe Valentine's Day menu will closely parallel. Those who prefer a la carte can dine at the restaurant on Valentine's Day during lunch service.

  • Maialino at the Gramercy Park Hotel, New York City

  • Gramercy Park Hotel is known for its sexy bohemian decor and celebrity sightings, so it's no surprise that it also features one of the top restaurants in the city. Helmed by renowned restauranteur Danny Meyer, Italian restaurant Maialino features a warm, romantic dining room with tables decked with checked tablecloths, an area of open kitchen, and a bakery with fresh daily breads. This Valentine's Day the restaurant is offering a four-course prix fixe menu with signature dishes such as gnochetti "alla Romana" and veal with olive oil whipped potatoes; it costs $125 per person, and wine pairings are also available.

  • Campton Place Restaurant at the Campton Place Taj Hotel, San Francisco

  • The Michelin-starred restaurant at the Campton Place Hotel is a hugely popular fine dining restaurant serving "Cal-Indian" cuisine; menu favorites include tandoori quail, cauliflower with kale and tamarind, and scallops seared in turmeric whey. Diners can their fill this Valentine's Day with the six-course prix fixe menu, starting at $150 per person.

  • Lacroix at The Rittenhouse, Philadelphia

  • If you're going for full-on traditional this Valentine's Day, a candlelit meal at a beautiful French restaurant is the answer. The Rittenhouse's Lacroix, overlooking Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square, is a beautiful gourmet option. The prix fixe holiday menu includes sexy tastings of canapes, scallops, and foie gras and, of course, ends with a chocolate dessert for two. The special menu is being offered at $125 per person on Friday and Saturday night, as well as on Sunday night for $85 per person. Wine pairings can be added for $75 per person.
