Niagara Falls Hotels With the Best Views

Niagara Falls has been a classic vacation destination for decades, both for romantic getaways and family trips. The area and its offerings on both sides of the American-Canadian border have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant: the iconic views of the falls. That said, choosing a hotel overlooking Niagara Falls seems like a no-brainer. To help, we’ve compiled a list of properties with beautiful views on both sides of the Niagara River. But first, the basics: If you’re staying on the American side, expect the view from the hotel to reveal rushing rapids leading to the falls, or the Canadian skyline. This is due to its geographic location. On the other hand, the Canadian side is home to hotels that are closer to Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. With that in mind, all of the below properties offer memorable sights -- albeit from different perspectives.

  • Embassy Suites by Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel

  • The view from the Junior Presidential Suite at the Embassy Suites

This large chain hotel is centrally located in the Fallsview tourist district on the Canadian side. You can’t go wrong when you book a suite here, as they all have views of the falls. The property also happens to be a great pick for families of five or more, since everyone can fit in one suite, saving you the extra expense of booking two rooms. Some of the suite categories can even sleep up to 12 guests. Plus, adults can take advantage of the free evening cocktail reception and the on-site Starbucks, while everyone will appreciate the huge indoor pool and hot tub, surrounded by big windows. Bonus: Breakfast is free.

  • The Tower Hotel

  • The view from the Queen Room at The Tower Hotel

If you’re not interested in getting a dose of kitsch with your views, you may want to check out this small, hip hotel on the Canadian side. Not only does the boutique property boast modern architecture, but the views here are arguably the best on either side of the falls, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. Aside from stellar views, the rooms (located on either the 26th, 27th, or 28th floor) also feature kitchenettes. Those looking to tie the knot will be happy to find an on-site wedding chapel as well.

  • Travelodge Hotel Niagara Falls Fallsview

  • The view from the Family Suite at the Travelodge Hotel Niagara Falls Fallsview

If you like your hotels with a retro vibe, this country-inspired option on the Canadian side might be the right fit for you. The nostalgic atmosphere transports guests back to Niagara Falls’ heyday as the honeymoon capital of the world -- heart-shaped tubs and all. Some rooms have stellar views, which can be taken in from balconies. (Note that you’ll need to request a room with a view while booking.) The location is ideal, allowing guests to walk to the falls and the downtown area in 15 minutes or less. Other noteworthy perks include an indoor pool and gym, free Wi-Fi, and a hearty buffet breakfast that comes with most bookings.

This luxury boutique hotel on the American side offers panoramic views of the upper Niagara rapids and the Niagara Gorge. Dating back to 1929, the Art Deco-style building is located within walking distance of Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and the region’s state parks. Guests can also take advantage of the sunset toast on Fridays and Saturdays in the Sky View Lounge. During this time, folks can watch the sun set over the falls. Some of the more spectacular views of the Niagara Falls region can be had from the Splendore Suite on the 16th floor, the Empire Suite on the 15th floor, as well as corner rooms on upper floors. Just make sure to request an upper floor with a view of the rapids and river when booking.

  • The Red Coach Inn

  • Street at The Red Coach Inn

Built in 1923, this Tudor-style bed-and-breakfast houses 37 spacious rooms and suites, some of which have gas fireplaces and fully-equipped kitchens. Don’t feel like cooking? Choose to dine at the hotel’s award-winning fine-dining restaurant instead. Many of the rooms on the second and third floors offer beautiful views of the upper Niagara area -- just be sure to specify you want a room with a view when booking. The property is also close to popular attractions, including Cave of the Winds, Goat Island, and more.

  • Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

  • The Center King Room at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

The main draw of this AAA Four Diamond-certified hotel is its full-service casino, but there are plenty of amenities to keep non-gamblers busy, too. Some highlights include 10 restaurants, seven shops, and a full-service spa. When it’s time to get outside, you’re an easy 10-minute walk from Niagara Falls State Park. Guests can also enjoy panoramic views of Niagara’s rapids from all of the corner suites, which feature a whirlpool tub in the living area.
