Holidays in Orlando: SeaWorld and Universal Studios Events
If you'll be in Orlando this hoilday season, I can recommend two wonderful holiday events to check out, both at theme parks. Both "SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration" and "Holidays at Universal Studios" have numerous attractions that are special for the season. There are two that I particularly enjoyed, that I believe are can't miss experiences.
Universal Studios Orlando has an extra special treat in store this year. Mannheim Steamroller are the masters of Christmas music. Their music is powerful and compelling. On December 11th and 18th they will be performing your instrumental favorites and also providing the music for a The Grinch Who Stole Christmas reading. Actual actors from the Grinchmas show (currently on stage at Universal Islands of Adventure) provide their voices (out of costume) for a heartwarming show that people of all ages are sure to love. Don't worry about where you stand because they have a large screen so you can see! This is a can't-miss opportunity and I highly recommend buying tickets now for these two days. If you can't make these two dates, "Holidays at Universal Studios" runs until January 1, 2011. Do yourself a favor and book a night at a Universal property hotel. The Royal Pacific Resort, Orlando is a Hawaiian recreation sure to appeal to all ages!
SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration has an extra special offering this year called the Sea Of Trees. All around the lake are 75 Christmas trees, completely covered in Christmas lights that change color to holiday music. This is one of the most captivating experiences I’ve had at a theme park event. The music was beautiful and the show was simply stunning. Certain parts were soft and the tree colors change slowly, and then all of a sudden it get louder and faster and the colors begin quickly changing. Seeing this vast array of trees -- all different sizes and colors on such a grand scale -- was something I'll never forget. This event runs until January 2, 2011. If you are tired after the event be sure to head over to the Rosen Centre Hotel, Orlando on International Drive!
