14 Luxury Caribbean Resorts for Adults Only

One of the most impressive and romantic resorts in the world, Jade Mountain is a stunning property overlooking St. Lucia's famous Pitons. The 29 suites are huge, elegant, and unique, offering open fourth walls with views of the sea from the entire room, plus canopy beds, whirlpool tubs, and (in all but the entry-level rooms) private infinity pools. Lounge areas, 24-hour butler service, and tea- and coffee-making facilities are standard as well. Ladera Resort is the more affordable version of Jade Mountain Resort in St. Lucia. This adults-only resort also has fabulous views of the Pitons, including from all 37 rooms, the clifftop pool, and all-day open-air restaurant serving free breakfast. Rustic-chic rooms all have cold or heated plunge pools -- some with swings -- sitting areas, and free Wi-Fi. The 492-suite Excellence El Carmen attracts young couples and groups of friends with its hip vibe. It has a gorgeous beachfront setting in Punta Cana's laid-back Uvero Alto area, which is about a 45-minute drive from the airport. The 2013-opened Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville Don Pablo Collection has a quiet and peaceful setting near La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Also offering a limited number of overwater bungalows, the 301-room Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort is a romantic, couples-only resort on the island's northwest coast. Most activity takes place around the main pool with a swim-up bar, plus there are more serene, intimate pools around the property. An elegant spa, ample free water sports, cozy fire pits, a plethora of free restaurants, and a white-sand beach with views of Pigeon Island are all available here. Opened in November 2013, the 750-suite Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa is a huge, luxe all-inclusive for adults only. Ample features keep crowds dispersed, including a gorgeous beachfront, stellar spa, small casino, and several pools with swim-up bars, whirlpools, and a lazy river. Tons of activities, such as water sports and horseback riding, are also on offer.
