As summer arrives, Press Lounge opens on the roof of Ink48

Summer is a-coming, which means New Yorkers have rooftop bars on their minds. A few new bars are bursting onto the scene, including the brand new rooftop lounge at Ink48, a Kimpton hotel that opened on Manhattan's west side in September. The hotel's Press Lounge kicked off its first season on Friday night, and we got to take a tour of the new space yesterday.

The rooftop space consists of a gorgeous interior with high ceilings (see our photos below), and an expansive wrap-around terrace with couches and whicker chairs, a long reflecting pool, and a hot tub (yes, a hot tub) overlooking the Hudson.
Ink48 wants to keep a low-key vibe at Press rather than turning it into a clubby nightspot, so hotel guests and patrons of the lobby restaurant will get first dibs at entry, and the public will be let up on a first-come, first-served basis.
