This adults-only boutique resort in Cancun is a perfect choice for couples, as each massive room only accommodates two people. Swim-Up Suites with Private Gardens offer guests private poolside lounge chairs. There are three pools total at the resort, one with a swim-up bar.
There are a whopping 13 pools here, including one that links the resorts’ swim-up rooms (it’s actually more of a lazy river, sans waterfalls and inner tubes). Since the resort is massive, having a private pool access -- and your own chairs -- is a huge plus, as in peak season there’s often a scramble for chairs at the other pools.
Since the ocean at this resort isn’t the safest for swimming, the pool scene is a pretty big deal. What makes Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos stand out its ability to cater to all demographics, from families to party-hard young adults to romantic couples. There are a number of pools, from a kids’ pool to an infinity pool, but there’s also one for the swim-up suites.
If you’re looking for your own private getaway within the convenience of a mega-resort, the Excellence Club Junior Swim Up Suite at the Excellence Riviera Cancun should be on your radar. Not only do guests in this accommodation have walk-out access to a pool, but they also have a hammock and a daybed in their own private garden. The adults-only all-inclusive has a total of five pools.
Set on a private white-sand beach, Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun is a romantic adults-only property that offers high-quality dining options (including unlimited top-shelf liquor at six bars!). Most of the resort’s ground-floor rooms are swim-up suites, but guests should note that they might get less sun down here than on the upper floors.
With only 97 rooms, the family-friendly Azul Beach Resort Riviera Maya offers guests a more community-like setting than some of the mega-resorts. One of its three pools sits between the swim-up suites, which include the Jacuzzi Swim-Up Junior Suite, the Family Swim-Up Suite, the Royal Swim-Up Suite, and the Connoisseur Swim-Up Suite. Due to its intimate size and relatively remote location, this resort is best for long weekends away rather than full weeks.
The Hyatt Zilara Cancun is one of the top luxury adults-only resorts in the Hotel Zone, and it doesn’t get much more luxurious than staying in a swim-up suite. While luxury is the focus here, there’s a huge emphasis on fun -- we’re talking foam parties, tequila tastings, and a hopping swim-up bar scene.
Young adults flock to this adults-only resort on the Pacific for its luxurious rooms, gorgeous pools, and party-like atmosphere (you can thank unlimited premium alcohol for that), though its serene spa is worth a mention, too. Some suites on the ground floor offer swim-up access to a small, semi-private pool.
Set halfway between Playa Del Carmen and the Mayan ruins of Tulum, this adults-only resort is in a delightfully secluded location, and with 282 suites, it won’t be nearly as crowded as some of the mega-resorts. There are three swim-up bars in the pools, but if you’re looking for a more relaxed pool experience, book one of the swim-up suites with access to the lazy river.
Ranging from sizes 2-24, Summersalt will have you looking and feeling your best on your Mexican vacation.
