6 Asian Hotels with Spectacular City Views

With some of the best views in the Malaysian capital, Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is one of the best options in town for travelers willing to splurge for front-and-center views of the city's skyline. This upscale property offers sleek, business-chic minimalist rooms with gigantic picture windows. Many of the rooms here -- such as the aptly named Petronas Twin Towers View Suite -- look right out on Kuala Lumpur's iconic Petronas Twin Towers. And if that weren't enough, the hotel offers a long atrium-encased lap pool flanked by large windows that look right onto the towers and their surrounding skyscrapers.

Located in the heart of Taipei's Xinyi District, the Grand Hyatt Taipei is a gigantic property (think 853 rooms and 10 restaurants) with impressive city views from its upper-floor rooms. The best views in the house are, unsurprisingly, from the Presidential Suite, an enormous apartment-style unit with large windows that face out on the city's many skyscrapers. Even the soaking tub in the unit's gorgeous marble bathroom looks out on the skyline. Travelers with more conservative budgets can opt for a 22nd-story Grand Club Room, all of which have fantastic views and come with access to the swanky Grand Club Lounge.

Despite its location outside of the heart of the city center, the Oasia offers elegant rooms with excellent bird's-eye views of Singapore -- without many adjacent buildings to block the views. The Corner Deluxe Rooms have corner-spanning windows lined with padded seating areas, ideal for curling up with a book while looking out on the city, while the Club Suites offer stylish bedrooms with (almost) floor-to-ceiling windows and deep soaking tubs in the bathroom positioned right next to city-facing picture windows.

This 32-floor high rise in the heart of Bangkok's ever-popular Sukhumvit area features all of the Gallic perks for which the chain is known, from fresh croissants at breakfast to understated but elegant business-chic rooms with big marble bathrooms. Although many of the rooms have excellent views, those from the Opera Suites and the Imperial Suites have impressive views of the city's skyline from large picture windows and private furnished balconies with plush furnishings.

It's one of the larger and more luxurious hotels in Hong Kong, but some may argue that the InterContinental Hong Kong's biggest bragging point is that over two thirds of its rooms have harbor views. Most of these rooms have nearly unobstructed views across the water and to the row of skyscrapers beyond, and some of the suites throw in huge marble bathrooms with window-facing jetted tubs to sweeten the deal.

Given that it occupies the top 10 stories of the 34-floor Shiodome Media Tower,  it should come as no surprise that Park Hotel Tokyo offers some of the best views in the neighborhood. Rooms at this trendy design hotel are positioned around an enormous light-filled atrium, and mount Fuji is visible from the space on clear days. The views from the rooms aren't bad either, and corner units have curving rows of picture windows, some with views of the city's iconic Tokyo Tower.
