Comfort Suites Hot Springs

This quiet and casual hotel hosts a diverse mix of tourists, business travelers, and families of patients at the nearby hospital. Opened in 2009, it's a fresh and modern property, with an airy, two-story lobby with white beams framing the ceilings. There's plenty of contemporary seating in a living room-like space with gold sofas and striped armchairs encircling wood and granite coffee tables. Beige and espresso-colored tile leads into the main common space: a spacious breakfast area that features colorful chairs and benches in neon-green and orange. All in all, it's a pleasant property that puts comfort and function over fashion.

The Comfort Suites is situated in a somewhat secluded setting that’s still convenient to major roadways. It’s near the intersection of Central Avenue and Martin Luther King, Jr. Expressway, about a seven-minute drive from downtown Hot Springs and nine minutes to the Hot Springs National Park Visitors Center. A medical complex is next door to the hotel, but the closest restaurants are about a 10-minute walk. However, a good choice of restaurants and several retail stores are within just a couple minutes by car. The Oaklawn Race Track and Casino is a four-minute drive, and Lake Hamilton is seven minutes away. Memorial Field Airport is a nine-minute drive, and Magic Springs Water and Theme Park is 12 minutes by car. It takes approximately one hour to reach Little Rock and its airport, and about 90 minutes to drive to the Little Rock Air Force Base.

Clean, spacious, and modern, guest rooms at this Comfort Suites are decorated in tasteful, if generic, furnishings. Walnut-finish headboards add a contemporary flourish, and sky-blue partial walls separate the bedrooms from the sitting areas, which have polished-silver mirrors and brown-upholstered sleeper sofas and armchairs. Vintage black-and-white photos of Hot Springs are an elegant touch. The mix of soft browns and blues in textiles is appealing, but does nothing to lighten the space, which can lack natural light. 

Standard suites come in King and Double-Queen options. Other options include Kings with two-person whirlpool tubs positioned outside the bathrooms, and Kings with separate bedrooms and large, tan granite wet bars. The rustic brown tiling in the bathrooms give a nicer finish than what’s normally seen in budget-category chain hotels. The bathrooms also have roomy, tan granite vanities, large mirrors, and shower/tub combos. 

All suites are well equipped, with microwaves, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, flat-screen TVs, and desks with office chairs. Free Wi-Fi is provided as well. Suites are generally quiet, and past guests have praised the comfortable beds. 

This Comfort Suites’ amenities are designed to have broad appeal to both leisure and business travelers. In terms of food, the hotel's free hot breakfast buffet includes waffles, eggs, and breakfast meats, and the small convenience store sells snacks, drinks, sundries, and frozen entrees. The outdoor sundeck also has attractive stone tables and a grill that guests can use. The property's pool, however, is indoors, but it still offers lots of loungers and patio tables. While there is a fitness center, it's very small with only a few cardio and weight-training machines. For business travelers or guests with events, the hotel has over 1,400 square feet of meeting space, enough to host up to 160 people for a reception. Two computer stations with internet access and a printer serve as the lobby business center. Free weekday newspapers are available in the lobby, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel. Other useful perks include a guest laundry room, valet dry cleaning and laundry services, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and free parking.
