Titanic Beach Lara

Titanic Beach Lara Hotel is a lovely beachfront resort recognizable from the outside for its cruise-ship theme. The prow of the ship towers over the main pool, and guests can lounge on the main deck looking out to sea. Balconies have railings styled after a ship’s decking, and circular ports adorn the sides near ground level. Grounds surrounding the building are lovely and well-cared for, consisting of many trees, flowers, and garden pathways. Interiors are stylish and elegant. The lobby is a grand space with high glass ceilings where windows and glass elevators span the full height of the atrium. Elegant light fixtures, tasteful furnishings, and sophisticated architectural features are found throughout public areas. For instance, Caprice Bar & Patisserie has chic tufted chairs amid shelves with old-fashioned books, while the main restaurant has separate sitting areas with unique, stunning themes. The hotel is popular with families for the kid-friendly activities and mini-club, though all types of leisure travelers enjoy the good food and beautiful beach. 

This hotel is on the southern coast of Turkey, a 30-minute drive east of the popular tourist town of Antalya. It is on a strip of beach lined with hotels, and close to a main road with a few shopping centers, a grocery store, and several restaurants a 15-minute walk away. Antalya offers a city atmosphere with an old town section and some historic sights relating to the Roman occupation of the area. A 30-minute drive east of the hotel, guests can explore the archaeological sites of Belek, or the large water park there. There is a bus stop a six-minute walk from the hotel, and Antalya Airport is a 15-minute drive away. 

Standard Rooms are contemporary and appealing, featuring pretty blue-and-green floral prints woven throughout the otherwise neutral design. Rooms are either carpeted or have wood floors, but all have a warm, welcoming feeling thanks to soft beige tones and fabrics. Translucent windows printed with text and photo artifacts detailing the story of the Titanic’s infamous voyage are a distinctive touch in some rooms. French beds (smaller than a double) are snug, or there are options for two twins and upgrades with king-size beds. Each rooms has a furnished balcony, a flat-screen TV, minibar, kettle, and closet with a safe and bathrobes.  

Modern marble bathrooms are small but sleek, and outfitted with shower/tub combos. Extras like separate showers and tubs, rainfall showerheads, and whirlpool tubs are available in higher-category rooms. Hairdryers, slippers, and free spa-branded toiletries are provided. Upgrades include two-story Family Rooms, Suites with sitting rooms, and rooms with extra bedrooms. Annex buildings are on the property and close to all facilities, and some overlook a shared private pool. 

The extensive range of quality facilities keep guests entertained all day. The main restaurant serves three buffet meals daily in a contemporary space with a fun vibe. The huge dining area and crowds detract from the quality of the experience, but it helps that its divided into sections -- each with its own style of decor -- for the feel of a smaller restaurant. The food is good, though some find it repetitive after a few days. A la carte eateries offer traditional Turkish, Italian, and seafood alternatives in a shared space. Snack restaurants and bars are available, and the dessert shop is tempting. 

Several pools offer ample space to spread out and relax. The main pool is at the tip of the “ship” and meanders under a bridge sporting life preservers. Loads of comfortable loungers under white umbrellas surround the pools, and cabanas draped with white gauze offer sunbeds jutting over the water. There are also an Olympic-sized pool, a kiddy pool with a pirate ship, waterslides, and a quieter pool. The beach is a beautiful, sandy spot. Guests can use sunbeds under awnings for free, or rent cabanas with waiter service. 

A lovely spa offers a full range of services, and it has an indoor pool, Turkish bath, sauna, and steam room. Kids can spend their days at the mini-club, which includes a shaded playground and a cheerful indoor activity space. There’s plenty more to keep occupied, thanks to a large fitness room, exercise classes, tennis and soccer courts, water sports (fee), shows, and shops. Wi-Fi is free, but it's not reliable in all areas, particularly rooms.
