The upscale
70-room Puding Marina Residence is a historic old town property about a five-minute walk
to Antalya Harbor and Mermerli Beach. Rooms are simple but contemporary, and some have balconies with
exceptional sea views, but noise can be an issue. A delightful outdoor
pool, and the on-site restaurants and bars are highlights. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. Be aware that children must be at least 11 years old to stay here, and that narrow roads can make the hotel difficult to reach by car. Travelers with young children might want to consider the Ramada
Plaza Antalya, although its rates are higher.
Scene
A rustic yet modern hotel with a cozy vibe and lovely courtyards
Eight historic mansions
with red-tile roofs and original stone walls give this hotel its rustic, homey atmosphere. The lobby, with its white desk, high ceilings, and stone wall accented by soft lavender wallpaper elsewhere, look mostly elegant, especially with the blend of antique and velvet chairs. Some of the space feels a bit slapdash, with oddly placed table lamps on floors and exposed cords around the front desk -- this in-a-hurry look carries over to guest rooms too. Vibrant colors accentuate the traditional wood and stone of the restaurants, while the modern spa, with its wonderful scent of sandalwood, mixes metallic wallpaper and Buddha sculptures in its treatment rooms with lots of fresh flowers. Greenery and fountains embellish several
outdoor courtyards, which have table, day bed, and lounge seating. With the hotel's age restriction on children, couples make up most of the clientele here.
Location
In the center of Antalya’s old town, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea
The Puding Marina Residence
is on a narrow street in the heart of Antalya’s old town (Kaleici), with
restaurants and traditional Turkish carpet stores a one-minute walk in either direction. It's a charming, authentically Turkish part of town, with plenty of cafes and coffeeshops, and the old town's historic bazaar is a five-minute walk from the hotel. Antalya Harbor, the famous Mermerli Beach, and Hadrian's Gate are also a five-minute walk
from the hotel, and Hidirilik Tower and Karaalioglu Park are about a 10-minute walk. Konyaalti Beach Park is a 15-minute drive, and Antalya Airport is a 25-minute drive.
Rooms
Simple, contemporary rooms, some with balconies and excellent sea views
The 70 contemporary rooms at the Puding Marina have a
simple elegance, with purple drapes and bed runners adding color to walnut-tone wood laminate floors and off-white lacquer furniture. High ceilings make the spaces seem larger than they are, and chairs with retro silhouettes and curved edges on everything from the wardrobes to mirrors add a little design-conscious flavor to the rooms. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, minibars, and free bottled water. Some rooms
have balconies with exceptional Mediterranean Sea views. Bathrooms have stylish antique tile floors, wood vanities with contemporary raised sinks and fixtures, and narrow rainfall showers with toiletries.
Some rooms come with bathrobes and slippers. The bathrooms look a bit haphazardly constructed, with sloppy caulking or paint jobs around some of the tile work and molding. Most of the rooms suffer from some amount of noise, whether from the street outside, or from noise in the hallways or neighboring guest rooms.
Features
Outdoor pool, on-site restaurants and bars, free breakfast, and full-service spa
A small, unusually shaped
outdoor pool has blue tile from end to end, and is surrounded by a wood deck and walls giving it a private, exclusive atmosphere. Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine is in the hotel's restaurants, and the pool and lobby bars offer cocktails,
wine, and beer. Breakfast, which is included in the room rate, includes cheeses, breads, cakes, yogurt, along with extra a la carte options. A Turkish bath and
sauna, plus massages and other body treatments, are offered at the Royal
Spa, and the fitness center includes free weights and a few cardio machines.
On-site parking is free, as is Wi-Fi, but the signal can be slow.
