Bottom Line

This upper-middle-range, Key-West-Style resort has 28 clean, spacious rooms, all with full kitchens and most with whirlpool tubs and walk-in showers. It's right in the heart of the action on historic Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach, near multiple shops and restaurants, but street-facing rooms can get noisy from traffic, revelers, and live music. Though the small pool by the parking lot is a bit underwhelming, the beautiful beach is right across the street.

Scene

A low-key, condo-style resort in a lively location

Scene BridgeWalk a Landmark Resort

This upper-middle-range resort has appealing Key West style; the buildings that make up the property are painted light pink, yellow, and blue, and all have white balconies and a slight Victorian feel. The big condos with kitchens make this property well-suited to low-key couples and families looking to keep to themselves, and the convenient Bradenton Beach location means that guests can ditch the car for most of their stay, as there shops and restaurants right nearby (not to mention a beautiful stretch of beach across the street). Local trolleys also make it easy to get around. It's not a quiet, location, though, and guests should expect late-night revelry and live music at the restaurants. Those seeking seclusion should look elsewhere, but this is an ideal pick for those who want to be in the heart of the action.

When guests aren’t at the beach, they’re likely lounging by the (small) pool or drinking an ice-cold beer at the restaurant next door. A white fence encloses the pool, helping compensate for its location by the parking lot and giving it a more private feel. There are simple plastic lounge chairs and tables set up here, and palm trees hover overhead.

Thoughtful extras include free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfasts.

Location

Right on historic and lively Bridge Street, across the street from the beautiful beach

BridgeWalk is located in the historic district of Bradenton Beach, one of the three cities on Anna Maria Island. It's about 30 minutes by car from the Interstate, and once you reach the beach, the resort is just off the main road near a roundabout. The beach is across the street from the resort and an easy walk for guests. There are a slew of souvenir shops within walking distance and two restaurants next door: a beach-style cafe and a more upscale Bistro upstairs. The free island trolley helps guests get around without a car. Alternatively, bike or Segway rentals are available in town.

Rooms

Spacious, homey rooms with full kitchens

Rooms BridgeWalk a Landmark Resort

BridgeWalk offers a variety of room types ideal for both couples and families. The majority of rooms are more than 800 square feet, and have large screen verandahs and full kitchens. Tile floors and granite countertops give them a clean, modern feel while tropical prints on the couch pillows, hanging or potted plants, and framed photos of beach scenes add distinctly Florida charm. They're not quite upscale, but they're homey and attractive. Three-inch foam mattress toppers and triple sheeted bedding are used, and options with multiple bedrooms are available. Most rooms either face Bridge Street or the parking lot, but one of the three buildings housing rooms offers views of the beach. Murphy beds rather than pull-out sofa beds are used for extra sleeping space. Note that street-facing rooms can get noisy.

Almost all bathrooms have big two-person whirlpool tubs and separate showers.

Features

A small pool, free Wi-Fi, and free continental breakfasts

Features BridgeWalk a Landmark Resort

Features here are more extensive than at some condo-style properties. There's a small heated pool by the parking lot, and free beach towels are offered. The SeaRenity Spa is on the property and offers massages and facial treatments.

The Island Time Bar & Grill is conveniently located on the property and has a very laid-back vibe and friendly atmosphere. Fresh seafood is served, as are cocktails. There is no fitness center but the beach is a short walk away.

Unlike at some condo-style properties, daily maid service is offered.
