Its palm-filled gardens are located directly on a gorgeous, wide beach. There are restaurants, shops, and a golf course nearby. Rooms are basic (and some might say dated, with striped patterned bedspreads) but spacious, with mini-fridges, private balconies, and free Wi-Fi. During peak season, facilities -- such as the pools and tiny fitness center -- can get crowded.

Oceanfront value hotel
The hotel has two buildings and palm-dotted gardens around a giant pool. Behind that is a bustling promenade and the sandy beach. The grounds are well-maintained, inviting, and clean, but the resort can get rather busy, and at peak times the buffet and pool area can feel a bit manic and overcrowded. The hotel itself is a pretty Mediterranean stucco building, painted in sunny yellow and other warm, beachy tones. The lobby is spacious, with a tall, vaulted glass ceiling. Modern, sleek leather sofas, oversized pots, and an artsy black chandelier give the space a fresh feel. The grounds and lobby are full of lush, green plants, and have a welcoming, cheery atmosphere with modern-looking decor. Rooms, therefore, are a bit disappointing.
Location
A laid-back and convenient spot, directly on the ocean
The hotel is located in a relaxed residential and resort area, on a wide, quiet road behind a friendly little gate. Bars, restaurants, and shops are located throughout the surrounding streets. In the midst of buzzy, noisy resorts, this is a relatively peaceful area. The Mediterraneo Park is right on Roquetas de Mar Beach, and the back of the hotel looks onto the sweeping ocean and a promenade. The hotel is about one mile away from Roquetas Harbor and the historic quarter. Almería city center is 12 miles away.
Rooms
Private balconies and free Wi-Fi are pluses; dated decor is a downside
Rooms and suites are clean and bright, with shiny tiled floors and simple but serviceable wood furnishings, and they open to private balconies with plastic lawn furniture. Some have stunning views of the sea or the pool; others don’t look out onto much besides more of the hotel. There is good air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi as well as flat-screen satellite TVs and mini-fridges. Bathrooms are spacious and comfortable, and include a decent stash of toilettes. Decor is basic, and some might say dated, with dark striped patterned bedspreads.

In the evenings, the two bars feature local bands, flamenco dancing, trivia, and other entertainment. The pool is the hotel’s proud centerpiece. It’s a giant, lagoon-like spot, with a children’s section and a whirlpool, surrounded by palm trees. There’s a poolside snack bar, too, another pool indoors, and a fitness center (but it's small with dated machines). The Hotel Mediterraneo Park backs onto Roquetas de Mar’s stunning beach, with its lively promenade. There are kids’ activities, and a playground for tots. There’s also a souvenir shop and two conference rooms that can accommodate up to 120 people.
