Pierre & Vacances Residents Torremolinos Stella Polaris is one of the few apartment-style hotels in Torremolinos, as well as one of the most modern resorts in the area (it was completely renovated in 2010). It overlooks Bajondillo Beach (stairs lead down to sea level) and is a few minutes' walk from many bars, restaurants, and shops at the city center. The rooms are simple but clean and contemporary, with wood floors, white bedding, and kitchenettes. There is a buffet restaurant on-site serving all meals and there is bar service from both pools (one being seasonal).
Scene
Modern beachfront resort, good for families and long stays
Stella Polaris, completely renovated in 2010, is definitely one of the more modern accommodation options in Torremolinos. Most rooms have a living room, kitchenette, and terrace, so it's not particularly surprising that the prices at this mid-range property are steeper than at nearby competitors. The exterior is a typical boxy new construction, and the interior decor is warm and cheerful, with lots of wood and tropical furnishings. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. This hotel is great for families looking to cook a bit, or for anyone staying for longer than a couple of days who wants to take advantage of the do-it-yourself amenities that can’t be found at other hotels in the area.
Location
Beachfront property with easy access to the city centre and various activities
This luxury hotel overlooks Bajondillo Beach, and it's a short walk to the sand down a number of stairs (guests can also ask for a key to use an elevator). It's also a short walk to the lively city center, as well as attractions like Costa del Sol Square and La Bateria Park. It’s only a 22-minute drive to Malaga International Airport and the city of Malaga, which can be reached via bus (the closest station is only a five-minute walk).
Rooms
Spacious, modern rooms with tiny kitchenettes
Stella Polaris has 138 (mostly) apartment-style rooms, a rarity in Torremolinos. The rooms are simple, clean, with dark wood, white bedding, and modern furnishings. The rooms are equipped with tiny kitchenettes; most have microwaves, sinks, two-burner stovetops, and mini-fridges, but only some have coffeemakers. All rooms have sofa bed in the living room and a private balcony. The beds, although adequate in size, are noticeably firm. Rooms on lower floors have no views other than of neighboring buildings; it's worth paying a bit more for a higher floor with a better view of the sea (most units do have at least a partial sea view). Some ground-floor units open directly to the pool.
Features
An ocean-view outdoor pool and kid-friendly activities
The luxury hotel has a seasonal, ocean-view outdoor pool and an adjacent shallow kiddy pool. Stella Polaris offers a childcare service and scheduled child-specific activities for younger guests. The restaurant offers breakfast (for a fee) and all other meals; the poolside bar is great for unwinding and relaxing. There is airport transportation offered and 24-hour front desk service. Wi-Fi is offered, but for a fee.
