The Hotel Puerta del Mar is well kept, bright, and clean, with a cozy, quiet interior patio fit for reading or hanging out with friends. The place feels like a charming guesthouse, open to the picturesque Nerja streets where passersby stroll to local tapas bars or down the hill to the Mediterranean sands. The Puerta del Mar lacks frills, but its bright colors, Spanish tile, whitewashed walls and photo murals of butterflies, cherry blossoms, orange trees, and other natural beauty make it a lovely, if basic, base for exploring the Costa del Sol.
