Located on the coast of Granada province, two kilometers from the charming tourist town of Almuñecar, the Bahia Tropical Hotel is a mellow pick for sun and beach worshippers who want to lounge by the pool or relax by the Mediterranean Sea. The interior decor is ho-hum, but there is plenty to enjoy outdoors; adults with or without kids can relax on the private beach, around the pool, or while nursing a tropical cocktail or shooting pool in the outdoor bar. If that is too stressful, hot stone massages, saunas, and sunbeds are available in the spa.

Sitting right on a quiet section of Pozuelo Beach, the Bahia Tropical Hotel is a bit of a hike from the town of Almuñecar, but the 45-minute walk along the coast is gorgeous and peaceful. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, there is the beach, a park, and one bar, but stores and shops aplenty can be found in town. A car is convenient, but there is bus (15 minutes) and taxi service from the hotel, as well.

Every room at the Bahia Tropical Hotel has a private balcony. Guests can choose between pool view rooms for the afternoon sun and beach view rooms for morning rays. The decor is simple and dated, but rooms are spacious and have warm colors, tile floors, and comfortable sitting areas indoors and out. TVs are small and not flat-screen. There are mini-fridges and safes. Bathrooms are marble, with deep tubs (jacuzzi tubs in suites), and plenty of toiletries are provided, even a travel hairbrush. Some guests have mentioned that rooms have thin walls.
