Best Western Plus Pavilions

While the building dates to the 1960s, this Best Western has been renovated, and its especially apparent in the small lobby with a modern and fresh look. A gray leather sofa with matching ottomans provides seating across from the sectional front desk that blends natural stone and wood in its design. Floor tiles in a chevron pattern usher the way into the building. Another little seating area with a white leather sofa and lavender ottomans gives a chic spot to linger. A Mickey Mouse plastic statue stands atop a red box in a corner, announcing that Disney tickets are for sale here. Families visiting Disney are frequent guests here, given its proximity to the park, but the hotel also draws business travelers attending events at the nearby Anaheim Convention Center, especially in the fall, when school is back in session and the convention season is in full swing. Despite the continual activity, this hotel is a relatively quiet, laid-back place. 

The Best Western Plus is a 10- to 15-minute walk to Downtown Disney and the Anaheim Convention Center. The Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) buses stop outside the hotel, and it's about a five-minute ride to the convention center and a 12- minute drive to Disney’s main entrance. A pizzeria, Denny’s restaurant, and a convenience store border the hotel, and numerous other restaurants are within a three-minute walk. It's about a five-minute drive to Interstate 5, and Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Honda Center, and the Outlets at Orange are an eight- to 12-minute drive from the hotel. Sunset Beach, Newport Beach, and Knott’s Berry Farm are 20 to 30 minutes away, depending on traffic. Approximate driving times to the John Wayne Airport is 22 minutes, and LAX is about 45 minutes.

Compared with the lobby, the Best Western Plus Pavilions' 98 rooms are less fashionable, but they're not unpleasant. Soft earth tones of beige, sand, light brown, and sherbet play off the chocolate-brown carpet in a swirling pattern. Simple blond-wood furniture includes wall-mounted headboards, dressers, and desks. Copper bed throws, bed skirts, and bolster pillows complement the white bedding that covers the Serta pillow-top mattresses, and botanical prints pick up the rooms' colors. Each room also has two upholstered chairs and a small table that could serve as a dining surface. In-room amenities include microwaves, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Spacious tan granite vanities are placed outside the small, beige-tile bathrooms. Shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and a selection of toiletries come standard in bathrooms. Rooms come with either one king bed, two queen beds, or two double beds, and adjoining rooms are available. They are relatively quiet, but the exterior corridors pick up some ambient noise. Some rooms have views of the Disney fireworks. 

This older, motel-style property packs in plenty of modern amenities. It offers breakfast vouchers to each adult for a free breakfast at the adjacent Denny’s. It also provides a free grab-and-go breakfast bag that includes water, an apple, granola bar, and a muffin. Free coffee and tea are available throughout the day, and there are vending machines. The outdoor heated pool, surrounded by loungers and umbrella tables, is large for a hotel of this size, and there's a whirlpool too. There's a coin-operated laundry room, and valet dry cleaning and laundry services are available. The fitness center includes both cardio and weight-training equipment, and the business center has two computer stations with internet access and a printer. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and parking is free too. Disney tickets can be purchased at the front desk. Free newspapers also are available in the lobby.
