Bottom Line

Rooms fill up fast at the 59-room Anaheim Del Sol Inn, which is not surprising considering it's a clean, budget-and-family friendly hotel across the street from the entrance to Disneyland. With its proximity to the park and budget friendly restaurants, rooms designed specifically with kids in mind, heated outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, free continental breakfast, and cookies in the lobby, it's a very popular choice for families. This hotel is a Disney Good Neighbor, so tickets to Disneyland can be purchased in the lobby for the same price as at the gates, minus the line. However, there's no full restaurant or gym, and room decor is a bit drab.

Scene

Family-friendly budget hotel

Anaheim Del Sol may not be the prettiest hotel in town -- it looks as if it was built in the 1970s and has an interior decor to match -- but it's clean, well-maintained, and filled with families. Travelers should expect to see kids everywhere, from snacking on the free cookies in the lobby to splashing in the outdoor pool.

Location

Easy access to Disneyland and budget-friendly restaurants

For travelers looking for a budget-friendly hotel about as close to Disneyland as one can get without actually being inside, the Anaheim Del Sol is a great option. The tram tracks that transport guests around Disneyland are also across the street, so getting around the park is a cinch. In the hotel’s immediate vicinity are more hotels, plus plenty of budget-friendly dining options like Coldstone Creamery, Bubba Gump, Marie Callendars, and Tony Roma's. There’s also a 24-hour Denny’s and an IHOP for those looking for an alternative to the hotel's free breakfast. The hotel is also just steps from the Anaheim Garden Walk.

Rooms

Clean rooms with mini-fridges and microwaves

Anaheim Del Sol Inn’s 59 rooms are just like its public spaces when it comes to upkeep: they’re extremely clean. Rooms do at times experience noise from the street and neighbors. The rooms are large and offer many at-home conveniences including a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and flat-screen TV in each. The standout from the standard-size rooms are the Kids Anaheim rooms that sleep six and have two queen beds and a bunk bed. Decor in all rooms is dated, with paisley bedspreads, striped chairs, and dark blue and brown dominating the color scheme.

Features

Free continental breakfast, outdoor pool, and hot tub

One of this hotel’s most notable features is its incredible proximity to Disneyland –- it’s just across the street from the entrance. Guests take advantage of the free continental breakfast offered daily, and while it’s not by any means gourmet, it’s an easy way to fill up. The property has a small outdoor salt water pool popular for post-park dips, and there's free Wi-Fi in rooms and public spaces. The front desk is available to assist with attractions tickets and guests enjoy the freshly baked cookies offered there, too. There’s laundry facilities, parking, and in-room safes (at an extra cost).
