An 100 percent nonsmoking property, the Ramada Apollo is a clean, modern hotel with great design details throughout the property. Guests can gather in the airy, light-filled lobby with a red backlit front desk, colorful red sofas, and standout cattle-print ottoman seats. Another place to mix and mingle is the 17th-foor restaurant and skybar, which has views of the city and Rembrandtpark. Rooms continue the hip design, and include flat-panel TVs and free Wi-Fi. With its eight meeting rooms and A10 ring road location, the Ramada draws many business travelers, but the hotel's quiet, park setting that's next to a tram stop appeals to tourists too.

Although not in the center of the Amsterdam action, the Ramada Apollo offers a quiet and leafy setting next to the Rembrandtpark, which has lawns, walking and biking paths, playgrounds, and a petting zoo. The A10 ring road and Admiraal Helfrichstraat tram stop are adjacent to the hotel, providing access to the rest of the city. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museums are 2.5 miles southeast. The Anne Frank House is two miles east, and De Nieuwe Kerk Church, Royal Palace, and Dam Square are about two miles east. The hotel is about eight miles northeast of the Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. The Ramada offers a free shuttle from the airport, and paid shuttle to return.

The Ramada Apollo's 446 rooms are light-filled, funky, and colorful, and range in size from 215 to 388 square feet. Painted in colors of aqua blue and white, they include black-and-white photos of Amsterdam, colorful posters, and crisp white cotton bedding. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, flat-panel TVs, and coffeemakers. Some rooms have mini-fridges, and some have views of the city and Rembrandtpark.

The Ramada Apollo's signature feature is its 17-floor restaurant and skybar, which offer sweeping views over the park and city of Amsterdam. The restaurant's focus is international cuisine and regional specialties, and the bar serves a wide array of cocktails, beer, and wine in a colorful setting with purple chairs. An ample buffet (for a fee) breakfast is served in a sleek, mid-century-modern-meets-contemporary room. Those in a rush to hit the tourist trail in the morning can grab coffee, tea and muffins at the barista bar and Grab 'n Go corner on their way out the door. The Ramada Apollo does not have a swimming pool but does have a sauna, solarium, and small fitness room. A gift shop selling an array of souvenirs is also on-site.
