The 16-story Novotel Amsterdam City was built in 1971, with its last renovation completed in 2010. This large hotel is often busy and its public spaces are usually milling with people. The spacious lobby is airy and bright thanks to large glass windows and high ceilings. The space is furnished in a modern, cheery style with white glass partitions, contemporary sofas, lime-green walls and chairs, and potted plants. Most guests staying here are business travelers attending conferences in the hotel complex or the nearby RAI Convention Center. Flight crews also often stay here because of the hotel's proximity to Amsterdam Schiphol airport.
