Like its sibling operation, easyJet (a European budget airline), easyHotel Amsterdam is decorated in a bright, minimalist style: simple white spaces with orange accents prevail throughout the hotel. The easyHotel forgoes a proper lobby in favor of a bench in a hallway, leading to a futuristic-looking white check-in desk. The walls are stenciled with a simple line graphic depicting Dutch buildings and landmarks, giving the space some local character. There's little to encourage socializing or lounging here; most guests are at the hotel to sleep, spending the rest of their time out and about, or in business meetings.

The easyHotel Amsterdam is on the corner of a busy road and a residential street in the De Pijp neighborhood, just south of the city center. The main thoroughfare outside the hotel is lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes, but the charming, more residential neighborhood quiets down at night. The hotel is within walking distance of the popular Albert Cuyp Market, Heineken Experience, and RAI Convention Center. The Museum Quarter is nearby; the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk Museum are all within a 15- to 20-minute walk. There's also a tram stop a few minutes from the hotel, where you can catch a short tram to the city center. Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is less than a 20-minute drive away.

Every amenity costs extra, from the flat-screen TV to a hairdryer, which must be checked out at the front desk. The bathrooms take a cue from the chain's airline in their compact design: they're essentially a walk-in shower with toilet and sink.
