Scene
A small boutique offering expansive sea views from all rooms and most common spaces
Housed in four-story structure built directly on the side of a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, the Eden Roc is known for its views. All of its 25 rooms have balconies or terraces facing the sea, and most of its common spaces offer expansive Mediterranean vistas, including the rooftop pool and the restaurant. From the outside, the property has a strong local feel, with a white and stone façade covered in plants and flowers, arches, and large windows with mustard-colored shutters. Interiors, however, are much more classic, with antique-style furniture, ceiling moldings, and lots of wood accents. The lobby is a long, rectangular space with a small sitting area featuring a blue couch, two chairs, a coffee table and several vases with plants. Arched doorways with heavy red drapes lead to the wine bar, which has similar classic decor with golden candelabra, wooden chairs, and a small wooden bar with stools. Opposite is the breakfast room, which offers sidewalk seating and a large buffet spread with pastries, meats, cheese, cakes and fresh fruit.
Location
On a steep slope a short walk from the beach and the city center
The hotel is located on a small, single-lane street on the eastern end of town. Positano’s main beach is just a short walk away, and there are dozens of restaurants, taverns and small shops within a few minutes of Eden Roc. The street where the hotel is located is steep and winding, but guests can access the city center and the beach via a long set of steep stairs. Santa Maria Assunta church and other central Positano attractions are all a 15-minute walk away. A nearby bus stop also offers easy access to the smaller Fornillo Beach and to all other major attractions in the area.
