Bottom Line

The 60-room Hotel Club Due Torri is a mid-range property featuring wonderful sea views from all of its rooms and common spaces. Rooms are spacious and clean, but have basic amenities and dated decor. The restaurant serves tasty regional and international cuisine in an airy dining room with an expansive terrace, and the bar area is a nice spot for a drink while taking in the panoramic sea views. Freebies such as continental breakfast and Wi-Fi are nice perks. Location across the road from a SITA bus stop and a five-minute walk from central Maiori is convenient for those looking to explore the region or visit the beach. Pietra di Luna has lower rates and a pool, but not all rooms have sea views.

Scene

Mid-range property with panoramic sea views and no-frills interiors

Hotel Club Due Torri is housed in a white eight-story structure built directly on the side of a cliff just outside Maiori. The entrance is just off a steep, winding road running parallel to the coast, and an area that’s a little wider serves as the hotel’s parking lot and drop-off area. The lobby is airy but basic, with terra-cotta tiles, white walls, and a couple of period-style couches with classic blue and white upholstery. A few hand-painted tiles, and a narrow table with two fluted pillars as legs lend the space some local charm. The rest of the common areas are located on the upper floors, and all offer stunning view of the Amalfi Coast. The hotel is especially popular with couples, but its spacious rooms cater to families as well.

Location

Cliffside location an easy walk from the city center and the beach

The hotel is perched on a cliffside directly off the main road running parallel to the coast. It’s a five-minute walk to central Maiori and its many restaurants, shops, cafes and bars, and the town’s main beach -- a long sandy stretch full of loungers and umbrellas -- can be reached in three to five minutes as well. However, there is no sidewalk on the road, and some guests may find it dangerous. A SITA bus stop can be found a little down the road, which makes this a good base to explore the rest of the region. Famous Amalfi town can be reached in about 15 minutes by car, and Positano and Pompei are just under an hour away. The nearest major airport is in Naples, located a 70-minute drive away.

Rooms

Simple, clean rooms with stunning sea views and basic amenities

All 60 rooms at Due Torri are clean and spacious, and have stunning panoramic views of the sea and the Amalfi Coast. Decor, however, is simple and somewhat dated throughout, featuring basic wood or wicker furniture, tile floors, thin bedspreads, and mostly bare walls. Details such as arched doorways, blue ceilings, and painted tiles are cute, but rooms are no-frills overall -- in terms of amenities as well as style. All units have free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, a wide array of toiletries, and mini-fridges with water and juice, but only higher-priced units have electric kettles. Additionally, most have flat-screen TVs, but a few rooms still have old tube TVs. Bathrooms are also clean but basic, with blue, white or orange tiles, bidets, and showers. A few have jetted tubs and heated towel racks. Most rooms have furnished terraces or balconies, but chipped paint and concrete walls make them feel drab.

Features

A restaurant, two bars, beach loungers, on-site parking, and free Wi-Fi

The hotel’s restaurant serves regional and international cuisine in an airy dining room with a large terrace offering stunning sea views. A nice continental breakfast is offered here every morning at no extra charge, including coffee, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, breads, jams, bacon, and eggs. Additionally, there are two bars on-site, including one with a deck and expansive bay views. The hotel has a number of loungers and umbrellas for guests at the beach, but there is an extra charge for using them. On-site parking is also available for a fee, and Wi-Fi is offered free throughout the property.
