The three-pearl Parque Mourabel Apartments is a smart choice for travelers who don't mind staying a 10-minute drive from attractions in Vilamoura. The property's 180 spacious studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments all come with full kitchens, living rooms, and some have balconies or terraces with garden views, but decor is bland, and not all have AC. All-inclusive rates are available, and there's a large outdoor pool and a full-service restaurant, through reviews are mixed. There's also evening entertainment, free Wi-Fi throughout, and a free shuttle that ferries guests to and from town. Travelers who want to stay closer to the beach and marina can consider Vila Gale Marina.
Scene
An older property with a mellow atmosphere for couples and families
The grounds at Parque Mourabel Apartments are eye-pleasing, with palm trees towering above well-maintained lawns. It's an older property, and the lobby's decor is a tad dated, but the space is bright and tidy, and the reception area has patio couches where travelers take a seat with laptops, or stop for a quick rest. Guests are often out playing golf or at the casino, or at the marina or beach, and while on-site, they tend to congregate around outdoor pool. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, and property mostly attracts older couples and families who want affordable accommodations with the convenience of apartment-style living.
Location
In a quiet area near other resorts, but far from Vilamoura and the beach
Parque Mourabel Apartments is located in an area with other hotels and resorts, off Av. Vilamoura XXI, a little more than a five-minute drive from N125 highway. Golf is a popular activity in the area -- Oceanico Golf complex is right next door, and the entrance is roughly a five-minute drive from the hotel. There aren't any restaurants in the immediate area, but there's a supermarket about five minutes away on foot. Vilamoura is a little less than a 10-minute drive, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, plus the marina and Casino Vilamoura. A free round-trip hotel shuttle runs there, and to Falesia Beach (just south of the marina) three times daily. A tourist train (for a fee) stops outside the hotel, and makes a loop around Vilamoura with a stop at the marina. Quarteira and its shopping and restaurants is also within 10 minutes by car. Boliqueime train station is about a 10-minute drive, and Faro Airport is roughly a 25-minute drive.
Rooms
Full kitchens and living rooms, some with balconies and terraces, but decor is bland
The hotel's studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments are tidy and well-maintained, but decor is bland, and units are sparsely decorated. There's wood furniture and trim, but walls are almost bare, and apart from the vivid red stripes on some beds, there's generally very little color. All units have full kitchens with refrigerators, four-burner stoves, ovens, electric kettles, microwaves, toasters, blenders, cookware, and tableware. There are living rooms with two sofa beds, and most units have balconies or terraces with garden views. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Deluxe units add free mineral water, local wine, and milk upon arrival. Some units only have fans rather than air-conditioning. Bathrooms are spacious and come with bidets, showers, and bathtubs.
Features
Outdoor pool, full-service restaurant, and all-inclusive rates, but no fitness center
Parque Mourabel Apartments has attractive amenities for an apartment-style property, where all-inclusive rates are available. The 65-foot long pool is a top feature, and there's a full-service restaurant. A hot breakfast buffet is offered for a fee, and includes cooked-to-order eggs. Lunch and dinner menus are a la carte, with Portuguese and international cuisine including pastas, burgers, and salads. The food quality is typical of mid-range, all-inclusive hotels, so it gets mixed reviews for its taste, temperature, and texture. There's also a bar with an outdoor terrace overlooking the pool, plus evening entertainment and music. There's no fitness center, but other amenities include a convenience store, free parking, and free Wi-Fi throughout. There's housekeeping every day except for Sundays and bank holidays, with towels changed three times a week, and bed linens changed once a week. The hotel's free shuttle to Vilamoura marina and to Falesia Beach three times daily is a perk.
