It overlooks the bay in the popular Welsh seaside resort of Llandudno, and its contemporary, uncluttered interiors are welcoming and homey. A hot, traditional English breakfast is included in the room rate, along with selections from a chilled buffet, and there's a bar and lounge area where guests can mingle. Free parking is available on a first-come first-serve basis. 

Housed in a typically attractive Victorian terrace building, the Lauriston Court Hotel shares its reception and bar with its sister hotel, Lawton Court, next door. The vibe is warm and welcoming with a jolly family-friendly seaside atmosphere -- the owners go out of their way to makes guests feel as if they're part of the family. Most of the spotlessly clean rooms have sea views; some have Sky satellite channels, espresso makers, and mini-fridges; and all have tea and coffee facilities and 22-inch flat-screen TVs with DVD players. The hotel serves a full cooked-to-order traditional British breakfast each morning, as well as a buffet of cold items -- all included in the room rate. There's also an honesty bar and lounge with comfy sofas, large TVs, and fireplaces. Free parking is available on a first-come first-serve basis, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

The Clontarf Hotel is a homey bed-and-breakfast housed in a large, handsome red-brick building away from the town's hubbub. Inside, the vibe is unpretentious and inviting, with a fireplace, board games, books, and leather couches and armchairs in the lounge, and hands-off hospitality that might appeal to more independent-minded travelers. Most of the nine individually styled rooms have sea views, and all have flat-screen TVs, tea/coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Some have such high-end amenities as jetted tubs and steam cabins. An excellent breakfast of locally sourced items is included in the room rate, as is parking. 

The Winchmore Hotel is a family-owned bed-and-breakfast property in a prime location overlooking Llandudno's North Shore Beach, about a five-minute walk to the town center. Decor in the public spaces is homey and a little hodgepodge, while the 32 rooms are fresh and modern, with light-wood and wicker furniture, bright accent walls, and flat-screen TVs; front-facing rooms have fine sea views. There's a ground-floor bar, and a restaurant. A locally sourced Welsh breakfast is included in the room rate, and three-course dinner is also available for a reasonable price. Free parking is available at the back of the building (it's rare in the area for a hotel to have its own lot).

This homey, 10-room bed-and-breakfast offers a good value in a central location that's a short walk from the beach, train station, and many restaurants, bars, and shops. Decor is old-fashioned and the interiors show their age, but everything is well kept and clean. Amenities are limited to a small bar, cozy lounge room with a fireplace, and free breakfast served in a pleasant dining room. Room decor is also dated, but the spaces are equipped with flat-screen TVs and electric kettles, plus all have en-suite bathrooms.
