Sama-Sama Hotel

Sama-Sama Hotel is more upscale than the average “stopover” hotel (that is, one near the airport that travelers stay at primarily for that reason, often staying just for a night between flights). Guests can enter the hotel via a skybridge directly from the airport (10-minute walk), and free buggy service is available frequently. It's calm and quiet for an airport hotel, with no plane noise issues, and multiple areas provide space for lounging. A few dining options, including an all-day buffet restaurant, are convenient, and an attractive outdoor pool surrounded by greenery is pleasant. The hotel is non-smoking, but there is a smoking area outside with tables and chairs and a garden. The design is contemporary and warm, though some furnishings look a bit outdated and/or are showing wear. Formerly called the Pan Pacific Hotel, the hotel was renovated and rebranded as Sama-Sama Hotel in 2013. Be sure not to confuse this property with the Sama-Sama Express in the airport, which is far more low-frills. 

Located a short 10-minute walk from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sama-Sama Hotel is a convenient property for travelers with layovers. There’s not much to do immediately surrounding the hotel, other than the dining and shopping options in the airport. For those interested in motorsports, Sepang International Circuit race track is a 12-minute drive away. For visitors wanting to explore the city, the modern KLIA Ekspres train nearby takes travelers to Kuala Lumpur Sentral station in around 30 minutes. There’s also a bus that runs from the airport to Sentral station. 

The 442 rooms and suites at Sama-Sama Hotel were renovated in 2013 and are well-insulated so guests don’t hear noise from planes. Rooms are done in a warm, contemporary style consisting of gray wave-patterned carpet, dark wood furnishings, and orange accents in benches, throw pillows, and wall hangings. Sleek bathrooms have showers, and many add separate bathtubs. Also standard are air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, coffee- and tea-making facilities, minibars, desks, and free bottled water. Closets come stocked with bathrobes, slippers, safes, and scales. Toiletries and hairdryers are also provided. 

Suites with living spaces are available, as are executive-level rooms for access to a Premier Lounge.

Sama-Sama Hotel has all the features an upscale property typically offers, with particular attention to wellness facilities. The greenery-filled outdoor swimming pool is a highlight, offering a kids' pool, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. A 24-hour Health Club has a small but well-equipped fitness center, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and outdoor tennis court. A spa offers a variety of treatments such as traditional Malaysian Malay Urut massages. 

There's over 30,000 square feet of meeting space for business needs. Convenient for stopover travelers, there are real-time screens in the hotel with details of flight arrivals and departures, as well as a free buggy service that takes guests to and from the airport frequently. Valet parking is available, but there is no free parking.  

Executive-level rooms gain access to a Premier Lounge with perks such as buffet breakfasts and pre-dinner cocktails. 

There are a few well-regarded dining options on-site, though many past guests have noted that drinks and food are a bit pricey. Degrees Restaurant serves international buffet spreads for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while a poolside cafe serves casual fare all day. Opening in the early evening, Travellers' Bar and Grill offers live entertainment, and a lounge serves snacks and coffee.Room service is available.
