Couples looking for a more romantic vibe could check out Legend Hotel by Elegancia, which has more stylish (but also smaller) rooms with rainfall showers.

An attractive, upscale boutique in St-Germain-des-Pres, Madison Hotel by MH has 50 classically decorated rooms -- and little else. The hotel serves daily breakfast for a fee, and welcomes guests to lounge in its cozy lobby bar, but there’s no full-service restaurant, spa, or fitness center here (though that's not uncommon for Parisian boutiques.) Madison’s greatest feature is its location in St. Germain, within walking distance of excellent shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. Travelers looking for a similar property with a few more amenities might prefer Hotel d’Audbusson, though it’s often pricier. 

Hotel Apostrophe Rive Gauche is a romantic three-pearl boutique hotel in Paris's 6th Arrondissement. Its rich atmosphere draws from the neighborhood's storied history as the stomping grounds of artists like Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein. Modern and eclectic throughout, the property's 16 rooms brim with dramatic details. They also have Juliette balconies and sleek bathrooms, plus waffle-comb robes, free Wi-Fi, and Netflix. However units are tiny, and even couples may find their open floor plans lack privacy. The Hotel Lutetia is the most magnificent luxury hotel in Left Bank Paris. The sprawling historic property -- in all of its Art Nouveau/Art Deco glory -- is set in the heart of the glamorous Saint Germain-des-Pres. Originally opened in 1910, the Jazz-era property reopened in 2018 after a four-year, full-scale renovation. Lutetia now offers 184 (down from 233) fully soundproofed rooms, each one with custom 1930s-style furnishings and solid marble bathrooms. Dining options include an all-day salon set under a historic skylit; a Mediterranean-inspired brasserie, overseen by a Michelin-starred chef; and 24-hour room service. Le Bar Josephine is a musn't-miss for its cocktails, live jazz, and incredible fresco, painstakingly restored during the 2014-2018 renovation. The gorgeous Spa Akasha features a 56-foot mosaic pool, and there are several grand salons for special events. Hotel Lutetia is the only luxury hotel in its class on the Left Bank -- for a classic Saint Germain stay that's more cozy and charming than grand, look into Hotel d'Aubusson.

Hotel La Parizienne by Elegancia is a 28-room boutique hotel with cheeky, fashion-themed decor in the heart of Montparnasse. A three-minute walk from the train station, the hotel's proximity to public transit and offices makes it popular with business travelers. All rooms have girl-in-Paris style, as well as flat-screen TVs, free coffee and tea, and free Wi-Fi. Just note that entry- and mid-level room categories are pretty snug (a common issue in Paris) and the breakfast buffet costs extra. Couples should compare rates with sister property Legend Hotel by Elegancia, where the room design is even more romantic.

The hotel's 6th Arrondissement home has loads of authentic Parisian charm, and the hotel -- for the most part -- likewise has a quintessential boutique-hotel atmosphere. Rooms are small, but have a fresh finish, with wallpaper by Hermes (in Classic Rooms) and Designers Guild (in Superior Rooms). Some rooms have French doors with street views of the surrounding area, though Superior Rooms are a bit less stylish. A continental breakfast buffet is included with certain bookings, and free coffee is available in the lobby lounge. Guests looking for an equally charming three-pearl hotel might compare rates with the nearby Hotel le Clos Medicis (though breakfast there isn't included in any of its room rates).
