Bottom Line

This beachfront resort occupies a quiet location in North Myrtle Beach. Overall, it's a tired three-pearl property, but offers a decent selection of features and roomy accommodations. The property has several outdoor pools, including a lazy river, kids' pool, and hot tubs. There are two dining options, one of which is open seasonally, while other features include a fitness center and, unexpectedly, a bait and tackle shop. The property's 259 one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos are dated and could use some updates, but they're equipped with full kitchens, washers and dryers, separate living rooms, and furnished balconies -- some with beautiful ocean views. Travelers looking to be more centrally located (Central Myrtle Beach is a 35-minute drive) might want to consider the Captain’s Quarters Resort instead.

Scene

Laid-back beachfront resort with colorful but dated interiors

This mid-range resort occupies two candy-colored cartoon-like high-rises, the eye-catching facades of which are mirrored in their vibrantly-colored interiors. Common spaces are bright with vivid hues and patterns, though the style teeters on the edge of retro and dated, with the latter often dominating. Rust-colored carpeting seen throughout many of the public spaces could use an update, as could some of the furnishings. Guests here are a mix of couples and families with kids.

Rooms

Spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos with private balconies and full kitchens

The hotel offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos, all with full kitchens and furnished balconies. The units are spread across two buildings, the main difference between them being better views and proximity to the beach in Tower One rooms. Decor here is lackluster and dated, the spaces clad in multi-hued color schemes peppered with salmon and orange tones. Living rooms have sleeper sofas and dining areas, while kitchens are equipped with full fridges, dishwashers, stoves/ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, toasters, blenders, and dish- and cooking-ware. All units also have washers and dryers, as well as flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms vary, and though most are spacious, some are small and have limited space. They're equipped with shower/tub combos, wall-mounted hairdryers, and toiletries. Larger condos have more than one bathroom.

Features

Several outdoor pools, a lazy river, two restaurants, bait and tackle shop, fitness facilities

The resort offers a solid set of features aimed at leisure travelers, the highlight being the outdoor pools, which include a lazy river, a kids' pool, and a rooftop pool with lovely ocean views. An on-site bait and tackle shop is located at the end of the Pier, where travelers can rent fishing equipment, pick up touristy items and toiletries, or purchase bait.
